Catriona Matthew

Catriona Matthew has gone from being a successful amateur through to a highly successful professional, now a twice-winner on the LPGA Tour.

She captured the Scottish Girls title once and the Under-21 Scottish Strokeplay Championship twice, before winning the Scottish Amateur and British Amateur titles.

The East Lothian-based player subsequently graduated to the international scene as a member of the 1990, 1992 and 1994 Curtis Cup teams before turning professional.

Having turned professional Matthew eventually headed for the LPGA Tour where she qualified at her first attempt.

Controversially omitted from the winning European Solheim Cup team in 2000, Catriona bounced back by becoming the third Scot to win on the LPGA Tour when she claimed her first title, the Hawaiian Ladies Classic, in February 2001.

In 2003 she helped Europe's ladies take the Solheim Cup and was again included in the 2007 line-up.

Her selection came on the back of winning the Scandinavian TCP title - just a few months after returning to competition after the birth of her daughter Katie
